  • Pottery Making Workshop – Herefordshire

    Pottery Experience Days: Spend a relaxing day in idyllic, tranquil countryside and get
    creative making your own pottery during this fantastic potter’s
    wheel workshop in Herefordshire. With the studio situated on the
    beautiful Eastnor Castle country estate close to the Malvern Hills,

    pottery workshop is just the ticket. Your Pottery Making Workshop in
    Herefordshire will begin at 10 am were you will be welcomed and have an introduction from your teacher. You’ll each be assigned a
    potter’s wheel, and after an initial demonstration you will be
    taken step by step, through the pot making process. Once you have
    got the hang of things, you’ll be encouraged to develop at your own
    pace with individual tutoring still being given if it is
    needed.

    Around 1 pm, a light lunch of bread, cheese, salad and fruit is
    served. In the afternoon there will be further demonstrations after
    which you’ll work larger lumps of clay, making bigger pots and
    exploring different forms and shapes. If you are ‘fortunate/skillful’ enough to end up with two pots we’ll ask you to select your favourite to take away with you to paint at home. Alternatively, for an additional £20 per pot, leave your masterpieces with us to be dried, fired and glazed. Once your pots have emerged from the kiln approx. one month later, we’ll drop you a line to let you know they’re ready for collection from the Pottery. P+P can be arranged at £5 per item.

  • Full Day Peak District Climbing and Abseiling Experience

    Climbing Experience Days: Enjoy a full day rock climbing and abseiling experience in the
    beautiful Peak District. Throughout this course you will learn a
    number of fundamental climbing skills, such as safely fitting a
    seat harness, and how to properly ‘tie in’. You will spend half of
    your day scaling rock faces, pushing yourself as far as you are
    comfortable with and progressing to more difficult climbs if you
    feel ready. You will also spend time abseiling, getting over that
    fearful feeling learning how to lean back and sit into the the
    descent.

    With expert (and very enthusiastic) instruction on hand throughout
    your climbing experience, you will progress quickly and should feel
    really confident by the end of your day. This Peak District
    climbing experience is a wonderful solo experience, but also a
    fantastic group activity, ideal for corporate team
    building.Climbers will meet at 10am at the Peak District location.
    Once the group has assembled and been briefed, you will head to a
    local disused quarry to start the climbing portion of the day. You
    will break for lunch (which is not provided, so perhaps bring
    something with you), before heading to the Go climbing at a local
    disused quarry. Lunch (not provided) then off to Millers Dale
    Viaduct to do a 75ft bridge abseil!

  • Glass Bead Jewellery Making Workshop

    Jewellery Making Experience Days: This jewellery making workshop is a superb
    introduction to creating unique, beautiful and original glass charm
    beads. Over the 1.5 hours jewellery making experience, you will
    learn about bead design, as well as different glass colours and
    their qualities. You will then have the opportunity to apply your
    new knowledge by designing your very own bespoke charm, which will
    be created in front of you.

    If you are over 14 years old, you will have the opportunity to get
    hands-on and help with the creation of the bead yourself. The glass
    charm will be annealed (heated and cooled to harden and set it) in
    a kiln, and you will receive it – on a preselected bracelet of your
    choice – in the post after the experience.Once you have been
    welcomed at the workshop you will attend a class that will discuss
    the methods used when designing and making the glass charm beads,
    and the different properties of various coloured glasses. Next up
    is the practical part – you will spend about 30 minutes designing
    your very own totally original glass charm bead. This will then be
    made in front of you (or with your help, if you are over 14) using
    a blowtorch. You will choose your favourite from a selection of
    coloured tube bracelets, before heading off home. The glass charm
    beads need to put in the kiln to set, but once this is done, you
    will receive your bead – on your chosen bracelet – in the
    post!

  • Mother And Daughter Jewellery Making Experience

    Jewellery Making Experience Days: This jewellery making class is the perfect
    Mother’s Day gift, and a wonderful way to spend some quality time
    together being creative. During the 1.5 hour glass charm design
    workshop, you will learn the basics of working with glass to make
    delicate, colourful beads. After learning about the different
    coloured glass and their properties, you will spend half an hour
    designing your own bead.

    Once you have finished designing your jewellery, it will be made in
    front of you, using a blowtorch. Anyone over the age of 14 can even
    get involved in this part of the jewellery making! As a special
    treat for mothers and daughters, a duplicate of both designs will
    be made for you, so that you can have your own design as well as
    your mothers/daughters on the tube bracelet that you select during
    the experience.
    You will begin the jewellery making experience
    with a short talk on how the glass charm beads are made, the
    different colours of glass, and their properties. Moving on to the
    practical stuff, you will then sped half an hour designing your
    very own glass charm bead, so get creative and make a bead that
    reflects you! After the beads have been designed, they will be
    created in front of you, with a blowtorch. Those over the age of 14
    can try making their own bead. Before leaving, you will choose the
    coloured tube bracelet that you would like to attach your bead
    to.

    As the beads need to be kilned, you will not be able to take them
    with you on the day, however they will be sent to you in the post,
    on your chosen colour bracelet. You will also receive a duplicate
    of each others designed bead, as an extra special memento of a
    wonderful day!

  • Clay Pigeon Archery Experience – Bedfordshire

    Archery Experience Days: This clay pigeon archery experience is a wonderful and very
    unusual new experience. Using the same concept as clay pigeon
    shooting, this archery lesson simply uses a bow and arrow in place
    of a shotgun, and foam targets instead of clay discs. As the foam
    targets are launched into the air (or along the ground, to imitate
    the movement of a rabbit), you have to channel your inner William
    Tell and try to hit them with your carefully aimed arrows! The clay
    pigeon archery adds a whole new element to more traditional
    archery, and you will enjoy the challenge of trying to hit moving
    targets with your arrows.

    Over 90 minutes you should see great improvement in you skill and
    confidence. The archery instructors are professional and very
    experienced, and will be on hand throughout offering advice and
    tips.You will be welcomed at the centre, then your instructor will
    deliver a short briefing. You will be introduced to the equipment
    and spend an hour and a half working on your precision and aim.

  • Target Practice Shooting For 2 Hertfordshire

    Shooting Experience Days: This target practice shooting experience in Hertfordshire is a
    wonderful weaponry experience that lets you test your precision and
    skill over a range of different shooting disciplines. Over an hour
    and a half at the beautiful Hertfordshire centre, you will try out
    three different activities, shown below:
    Target Archery – where in a ‘bare bow’ style of
    shooting, you’ll try to hit your target.
    Crossbows – these take some strength to load,
    but you’ll be amazed by their power and accuracy.
    Air Rifle Shooting – using a .22 rifle, you’ll
    attempt to hit a number of different objects, ranging from paper
    targets through to metal figures that flips back if/when you hit
    them.
    The target practice experience kicks off with a safety briefing
    that means everyone is aware of how they must behave while out on
    the shooting ranges. Once the briefing is done, you will be shown
    the correct stance , as well as how to hold each weapon. When you
    have shown you can stand and hold each weapon correctly, you will
    have a theory lesson on how to aim.
    You will then spend time practising your aim, receiving coaching
    throughout. Once you have a handle on the basics, you will have the
    chance to get a little competitive, with a fun game. Here, all participants can show off their skills, trying to come out on
    top! At the end of the shooting experience you will receive a
    certificate that will include your (surely perfect) shooting
    scores!

  • Introductory Archery Lesson – Hertfordshire

    Archery Experience Days: For anyone interested in the sport of archery, this
    Hertfordshire archery lesson is a wonderful introduction to its
    most authentic and traditional style – the challenging ‘bare bow’
    style. This means that the bow will not be equipped with a ‘sight’
    to help you aim, so your skills will be truly put to the test! You
    will be taught the basics of archery from a highly experienced
    Grand National Archery Society (GNAS) qualified and registered
    archery instructor.

    You will spend much of your archery lesson practicing and getting a
    feel for the weapon. Towards the end of your session, yourself and
    the rest of your archery class will take part in a fun competition
    to see who is the top archer of the day!Once you and the rest of
    your group have arrives at the Hertfordshire archery centre, your
    archery lesson begins with a safety briefing to introduce you to
    the centre and the correct behaviour that is expected when you are
    out on the archery range.

    When your briefing has finished, your GNAS qualified archery
    instructors will give the group a lesson on the proper stance to
    employ for archery. You will also learn how to properly hold the
    bow and how to load an arrow, ready to fire!

    After this you will have plenty of time to practice, learning from
    experience how to make that arrow go where you want it to! Once you
    have gotten to grips with using the weapon, you will spend the
    remainder of your archery lesson competing in a fun contest, trying
    to outdo the other budding archers in your group. You will get to
    shoot 16 arrows, and will be marked on how true your aim is – and
    at the end of the lesson, your instructor will present you with a
    certificate that displays your score!
