Your driving experience takes place on a purpose-built driving
course at Rockingham Castle. The driving centre boasts over 250
acres of land as well as a 75 acre disused quarry, with four
separate driving tracks to challenge off road drivers of all
abilities. Your driving day begins with a briefing to cover safety
issues and driving techniques, and introduce you to the powerful
4×4 vehicles you’ll be driving. After this, it’s time to head out
onto the off road course! After your instructor gives you a quick
driving demo, it’s your turn to take the wheel and see what these
marvellous machines can do! You’ll have plenty of drive time to
really get to grips with the vehicle, while the vehicle gets to
grips with the challenging course! Take on the varied terrain and
put your skills to the test as you tackle steep climbs and
descents, river crossings and ditches, and all kinds of natural
obstacles, with your instructor beside you throughout to offer
tuition.

This is a fantastically enjoyable half day 4×4 experience, and a
perfect gift for anyone who wants to find out just what these
fabulous 4x4s are really capable of!Once you have arrived and been
welcomed to the centre your Half day Off Road Driving experience
will begin when you meet your instructor for the day and discuss
the plan for the day over coffee. Once briefed up it’s time for a
safety brief and introduction to the vehicle you will be mastering,
before the instructor will show how it is done with a demo drive.
Then, with all of the knowledge and a burning desire to show you
can do it – it’s over to you to practice what the instructor made

Rally Driving Experience Days: During this full day Yorkshire rally driving experience, you
will get the chance to drive a Ford Escort RS2000, the legendary
rally car that dominated the world of competitive rally driving in
the late 70’s and early 80’s, and is still revered as one of the

Rally driving is the ultimate in high adrenalin, high speed
experiences, and during this full day you can expect plenty of both
adrenaline and speed. You will begin the driving day by learning
about the RS2000, then getting into the car to practice handbrake
turns, power slides, understeer and oversteer control. You will
have a professional rally driver sitting beside you throughout the
rally driving, to ensure you get the most from your rally lesson –
which in 7 hours, is a lot! Your rally driving experience will
conclude with an unbelievable passenger ride, as your rally
instructor shows you how the seasoned pros do it!Once you have
arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a
thorough safety briefing covering all aspects of the track and the
legendary rally cars you are about to drive, as well as covering
the basic principals and techniques of rally driving. You will then
shift over to the practice area where the instructor will teach you
how to perform handbrake turns, power slides and pendulum
techniques. This combines steering, braking, throttle control and
car position. Then, you will then be ready to begin the serious
stuff with the first of your runs through the special stages. Lunch
is available to buy on the day. Then, after a nice spot of dining
your afternoon session will begin, starting with car control,
balance, reactions & overall ability – which will be assessed!
Your day will then come to a close with a white knuckle ride as
your instructor takes the wheel for the final run through the
special stages at competition speeds. The day will then finish with
a debrief, during which your instructor will summarise your
progress and give advice on your performance. A trophy will be

will be monitored on points such as car control, balance, reactions
and overall ability and will be assessed by means of 3 half-day
stage laps, then 4 timed laps of the full-day stage, taking into
account both consistency and outright speed to determine the driver

Escort RS2000 and the gravel stage – and upon completion you’ll be

Impreza on the tarmac circuit. The power, grip and handling is

Tank Driving Experience Days: This is a fantastically enjoyable and utterly unique half day
experience where you get get the chance to control a fully
operational tank! Measuring 7m long and 3m high, the Chieftain
really is a phenomenal piece of engineering and some serious war
equipment! After this thrill, you can then get behind the wheel of
another of the World’s finest fighting machines … the Abbott
FV433 SPG. The fully operating swivel gun made this tank one of the
most feared in wartime, and you won’t find it hard to see why!

Next up is the FV432 Armoured personnel carrier – the most common
variant since the 1960s where it was used to transporting infantry.
As if this exhilarating experience wasn’t quite enough to satisfy
you, you get the added bonus of driving a tracked Stormer! It may
be smaller, but it’s still huge fun exploring in this mighty
vehicle! Your knowledgeable instructor will assist you with all the
driving techniques, so you’ll be amazed at how far you come!Once
